Story of RSS

The full name of the 'Sangh' is Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. However, in common parlance it is called R.S.S. What do these three words mean? It is quite easy to understand. Bharat is our nation. Self-inspired people who have volunteered to serve Her cause selflessly are called "Swayamsevaks". The coming together in an organized manner of such inspired men is the "Sangh". The founder of the Sangh was Dr. Keshav Rao Baliram Hedgewar. He was born in a family of priests in Nagpur on the Hindu New Year day in 1889. He lost his mother and father on a single day - both falling victims to plague. Subsequently, his elder brother started looking after the family.
